Columbus America Votes 2008 Blog
We’ll give you updates on what’s going on with America Votes volunteers and our partners here in Columbus!
Do politics and art mix? Yes they do! The first Saturday of every month, Columbus’ Short North stays open late for the Gallery Hop. We have a table each month to recruit for volunteers and talk to people about important issues. Here are some photos from our August Gallery Hop!
On September 4th, we had a potluck strategy session, where activists came together to learn about the local dynamics and how to make the biggest impact in central Ohio. We had a wonderful evening and over 20 people come out to learn, share their experiences, and take action by talking to voters. Thank you for coming!

Face to face conversations are the most effective way to contact voters!
On September 21st, we had an America Votes Coalition Canvass where the Ohio Young Democrats, Planned Parenthood, and the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1059 came together to talk to voters about economic justice issues. We gathered to hear about the important issue of pay-day lending and then went out and talked to voters.
We hope you can join us to canvass voters and make an impact this critical election year!
